Benjamin E. Mays Scholarship
Dr. Benjamin Elijah Mays was a giant in American education. He is remembered for his outstanding leadership and service as a teacher, preacher, mentor, scholar, author and activist in the civil rights movement.
He became president of Morehouse College in 1940 and launched a 27-year tenure that shepherded the institution into international prominence.
The Benjamin E. Mays Scholarship is awarded to African American males who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and social justice. Scholarship applications are available January 1st of each year.
Success for Black Boys has partnered with Lightroom Photography® to offer two unique opportunities. For a small donation supporters of Success for Black Boys can receive an original photograph of our 44th President, Barack Obama, or the artistic “Change” poster, which was commissioned in April 2008. 100% of donations will support college scholarships for African American males who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence.
