2009 NAEP Reading Results - Achievement gaps did not narrow at either the fourth-grade or eighth-grade level (Ed Trust)

3% of Black male students are in Gifted/Talented programs, as compared to 7.6% of White, non-Hispanic male students (Schott Foundation 2008)

African American male students hold the lowest college completion rate (32.8%) among both sexes and among all racial/ethnic groups in higher education (Journal of Higher Education 2008)

59% of Black Males in the 4th grade achieve at or above basic level in mathematics on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP 2005).
